The Jersey City Housing Authority (“JCHA”) CLOSED its Public Housing Site Based Waiting Lists and ceased accepting applications as of May 1, 2007. This action was taken because there are over 8,000 applicants on the waiting list and the average time an applicant can expect to wait before being addressed is 3-10+ years (depending on development of choice, bedroom size and preference category). As of May 1, 2007, the JCHA will only accept applications for under-represented populations.
